Veg Bags and Veg Boxes
If you want fresh vegetables delivered locally to your door every week, or perhaps every fortnight, we have a range of options for you.
We have 3 sizes to choose from - small, medium and large. Small and medium veg orders are typically packed in sturdy brown paper carrier bags, while our large veg orders are packed in open top cardboard boxes. All of these are reusable and we collect empty bags and boxes when we deliver.
We grow everything ourselves so you get a selection of what is in season at the time of picking. We always try to keep the selection as varied as possible and while you may not see big variations from week to week you will notice changes as the seasons progress. In the spring you can expect purple sprouting and spring greens, in the summer you can expect tomatoes and cucumbers for instance and in the winter squashes and pumpkins and mushrooms.
We do grow in polytunnels but we we don't run heated greenhouses because of the hugely unstainable amount of energy that requires in the winter so please don't expect warm season crops like tomatoes and cucumbers in the winter.
Some veg appear more in subscriptions more consistently. For example, we grow salad leaves all year round so these are a consistent feature in our boxes, as are leafy greens like kale ,collards, chard and spinach.
We harvest veg on a Friday for delivery on Saturday so you won't get fresher vegetables unless you grow them yourself. The only exception to this rule is for traditional storage veg like onions, squash and pumpkins which are picked and stored until they are needed.
You can choose how often you want a delivery. We offer veg deliveries every week and every fortnight. Whichever frequency you choose we always deliver on Saturday. If you can't be in then just tell us a safe place where we can leave your order (preferably somewhere out of the sun).
